Tether, the company behind the most popular stablecoin USDT, has announced its ambitious plans for 2024. The firm aims to launch five innovative projects that will challenge some of the established Web2 services.

According to Tether’s CEO Paolo Ardoino, the projects will cover various domains such as video streaming, messaging, social media, gaming, and e-commerce. They will leverage the power of blockchain and decentralized technologies to provide more secure, transparent, and user-friendly alternatives to the current Web2 platforms.

Ardoino did not reveal the names or details of the projects, but he hinted that they will be based on different blockchains and protocols, such as Ethereum, Tron, Solana, and others. He also said that the projects will have their own tokens and governance models, and that they will be open source and accessible to anyone.

Tether’s vision for 2024 is to disrupt the Web2 landscape and create a more decentralized and inclusive Web3 ecosystem. The company believes that its stablecoin USDT, which has a market cap of over $70 billion, will play a key role in facilitating the adoption and growth of these projects.

Tether has been expanding its token issuance and burning activities this year, responding to the market demand and regulatory challenges. The firm has recently minted 2 billion USDT on the Ethereum and Tron blockchains, bringing its total supply to over 80 billion USDT.
